Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship visits Cape Town this weekend and Jaguar TCS Racing are reset and ready to bounce back following a dramatic race result in Hyderabad which saw both team cars retire. All four Jaguar-powered cars (Jaguar TCS Racing and their customer team, Envision Racing) demonstrated impressive pace and efficiency while on the track and Mitch Evans took his first pole position in the Gen3 era, adding three valuable points to his championship campaign. Sam Bird will be looking to build on his two top four finishes this season with another positive points haul.

Together Everyone Achieves More

Soccer (or football if you prefer) is my true love when it comes to sports.

To quote the legendary Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson, “The work of a team should always embrace a great player, but the great player must always work.”

While players can produce incredible moments of individual brilliance, and we all know names like Messi and Ronaldo, soccer teams can only be successful if every player is working together.

The same can be said for motor racing teams. While the drivers usually get the headlines, the team behind them are critical to success on the track. From the Team Principal who is responsible for the overall direction and performance of the team, to the Data Analysts who are using the data collected from the car to decide how to optimize its performance, everyone is working towards a collective goal: more points, more podiums, and more wins.

Join the Team in Cape Town

This is why I will be cheering on the entire Jaguar TCS Racing team as they head to South Africa to compete in the Cape Town E-prix on February 25. It is already shaping up to be an exciting race as this is the first time Cape Town is hosting a round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. I expect the team will be raring to go as they hit a brand-new circuit through some of Cape Town’s most famous locations.

Before race day, you can join Micro Focus and the Jaguar TCS Racing team virtually in the pit lane. On February 23, we will be hosting the first of our Virtual Garage Tours for the season. This is an incredible opportunity to hear directly from the race team members, get a behind-the-scenes look at the garage, and learn about the Micro Focus technologies used behind the wheel. You will even have the chance to get your Formula E questions answered live during the tour. Register today as spots are limited.
