Women in Cybersecurity

Audrey Llorens
ThreatQuotient – Senior Manager, International Marketing

What do you do at ThreatQuotient?
I am in charge of partner marketing activities, which means that I interface with our partners and our sales team to build a marketing plan that supports both teams.

How long have you worked here?
It has been 14 months since I joined ThreatQuotient.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I joined Marketing at ThreatQuotient which was a role I grew into for almost 2 years. I don’t regret this choice as I love supporting business in a different way than being in sales. Furthermore, I have a wonderful manager and team who are constantly teaching me new parts of the job, from the operational, tactical, strategic and creative ways. I would say that the part I enjoy the most is when I see the plan we work on being executed and then seeing the results of our actions.

What do you enjoy most about the company?
First, I can only say great things about ThreatQuotient because this is the company that gave me the opportunity to start my career in Marketing. I would say that ThreatQuotient respects and values everyone within the team and there’s a great company morale.

How did you get into cybersecurity?
I was lucky to start working for a global IT company 10 years ago, as an intern at Oracle. One of the pieces of advice that my manager gave me was either to start working in an industry and stick to it, or to start with the job I wanted to do and stick to it. I chose to start working in IT, and quickly I joined Akamai when they enriched their cybersecurity offering.

What are your hopes for women in cybersecurity in the future?
I hope more women will join cybersecurity and at different positions, and that they will consider this industry for their career as it has great opportunities to fill and it gives equally the chance to anyone who tries.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #BreakTheBias. What does that mean to you?
Our society is implicitly teaching us how to think and act in front of our peers, and it is our own responsibility to take a step back to not fall into basic assumptions. #BreakTheBias is a good opportunity to set an example of actions we should take to change our mentalities.

What’s your go-to coffee/cocktail order?
If I don’t go for wine… I will always go for a spicy cocktail or a sour cocktail (i.e Pisco Sour, Bourbon Sour, etc.).

Do you have an interesting hobby?
I do yoga and boxing.
