This week, we announced we’re now members of the FIDO Alliance, an open industry association focused on creating authentication standards so the world can reduce its reliance on passwords. Our commitment to the group is that we will help them change the nature of authentication — after all, it’s what we do!

Together with the other Alliance members, we are working towards strengthening open standards to be more secure, easy to deploy and manage and provide additional security. While we’ve been involved with FIDO for many years through our partners and credential manufacturers by supporting their PKI and FIDO tokens. Over the last several years, we have watched FIDO’s focus shift beyond consumer authentication to now include enterprise customers. Integrated Public key infrastructure (PKI) + FIDO based multi-factor authentication tokens are now a household credential in enterprise environments. Our goal as Alliance members is to ensure those advantages are recognized: PKI and FIDO truly are a winning combination.
