RiSK 2009 CONFERENCE • FEBRUARY 10th and 11th
The Hotel Habakuk Congress Centre, Maribor, Slovenia

On the February 11th 2009 the RiSK 2009 Conference came to a successful end; more than 400 people from 15 countries gathered at the Hotel Habakuk Congress Center for two days to share the latest in information security.
The RiSK 2009 Conference was a specialized two-days meeting on information security and business continuity. The event was held on 11th and 12th of February 2009 in the Hotel Habakuk Congress Center and was attended by more than 400 IT management and information security experts.

Both the RiSK 2009 organizers’ and attendants’ anticipations were met and largely surpassed due to the number and the quality of presentations and the number of visitors. This year’s event span through it’s traditional two days and began on the 10th of February, which was the world day of safe internet use. The organizer – Real Security d.o.o. of Maribor, Slovenia – gave it’s best to help fight the cyber-criminals of internet by organizing 21 presentations, which is almost twice the last year’s number. The leading motto of the conference was - “Protect your data. NOW!”. The motto and the presentations were chosen by the organizer to emphasize the need for personal and enterprise security in the most appropriate form. Presentations were made by companies from Slovenia and most of them from abroad. The foreign vendors of security and business continuity solutions that cooperated on the meeting are SAFENET, Bluecoat, Websense, ARCSIGHT, Sourcefire, Verisign, ADACOM, Melbourne IT DBS, Stonesoft, CISCO-IRONPORT, TREND MICRO, DIGINEO, XYTHOS in IBM. The speakers of Slovenian companies came from, REA EDS, Pošta Slovenije, SPEM GROUP in Palsit. The attendants and the organizer concluded the height of the meeting was the presentation of mr. Jay Haiser, a renown professional and information analyst of Gartner. He talked about the current state of information security landscape and most importantly made a short review of technologies to come and a review of most important upcoming topics for IT specialists in the 2009. We all need some relaxing moments too, especially after thinking hard for long hours, so the formal part of the conference was followed by entertaining events on the afternoon and in the evening, and, for some, late into the night. We had a chance to visit a renown Slovenian second largest vine cellar Vinag and were then served a delicious dinner and gala party at the Rožmarin restaurant, where the organizer distributed gifts and presented a special RiSK 2009 cake. “RiSK 2009 is behind us. The visitors are saying ‘thanks, it was great’, which makes us proud of our work. We learned something, and so did the attendants, I am sure of that.”, said Renato Uhl, the CEO of Real Security d.o.o. and the main conference organizer.

RiSK 2009 conference sponsorship

Cooperate with us as a sponsor of RiSK 2009 conference and help us in our effort to bring Slovenian and regional information technology to a higher level. This is an achievement that is bound to have a significant positive effect on the broader business and social environment also. We simply can’t speak about computer security, business continuity technologies and about secure data storage regulations as of something new anymore. No, this is already old stuff, important old stuff of great interest to everybody, not just a closed group of professionals. These topics are important key factors in business communications and social connectivity and therefore the general computer security is the responsibility of us all.

The RiSK 2009 conference is being carefully planned and organized. Even right now as you read this we are probably reviewing final steps in communication and media activities to promote the event, for which we expect a good public response due to a wide media coverage. If you collaborate on the conference as one of the main sponsors you will get a slot for a 45 minute presentation / lecture and 10 free admission tickets. Also your trademark or brand and possibly some other information will be in all the published materials as well as on the agenda, invitations and of course on the promotional internet site.

You can choose among three sponsorship levels:

  • General sponsor
  • Lecturing sponsor
  • Partner sponsor

Send a request for more information to: info@risk-conference.com

The main media sponsor will be RTV Slovenija, who will also host a debate show on the theme of secure internet

“We are pleased to notice the growing awareness of importance of information security, and of course the related growth in number of our security conference attendees. I think this is now one of the most important annual events on these topics in the area. This year we are expecting more than 200 guests, personally I hope on 300, guests of different profiles from government and financial organizations, manufacturing and insurance companies, retail enterprises and representatives of small and medium businesses. It especially pleases me that we'll have a mix of seasoned lecturers and vendors who are new in this region, like SafeNET, VERISIGN and ARCsight. As it seems we are quite successful in accomplishing what this conference was envisioned to be – an opportunity for engineering and management staff of Slovenian and regional companies to get 'first hand' presentations and to meet 'in person' with representatives from distinguished security and security related vendors inside this region.”

With hopes of Your support and cooperation I hereby express my sincere regards and thanks to all of you.
